Title: Equipment Procurement Specialist

Reports To: General Manager

Summary of Position

The Equipment Procurement Specialist is responsible for carrying out procurement and planning functions required for the purchasing of equipment and supplies for the company. The Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of order management.  Assessing demand and replenishes inventories with an emphasis on ensuring service level goals are achieved.  Assists in resolution of pricing and product issues. Expedites, cancels or defers purchase orders to ensure alignment to support the Company’s needs and deadlines.  Evaluates vendors based on pricing, performance, and delivery. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Specific experience should include the preparation, negotiations, execution and administration of purchase orders, subcontracts, or bilateral business arrangements.
• Consults on production lines and with manufactures to understand demand forecasts for pricing reviews.
• Negotiate commercial terms on larger equipment orders
• Enters inventory, purchasing, and QC data into applicable systems; assists in 3rd party vendor and item set-up.
• Responsible for qualifying new suppliers.
• Coordinates delivery of purchased items with appropriate staff.
• Processes International, domestic and capital orders.
• Provides audit support and attends vendor shows as needed.

Experience & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/ Supply Chain (desired) or Business Management and Administration
• 2 – 5 years of procurement, expediting, order management, and/or other related business experience
• Proven order management and expediting experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite
• SAP experience highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently to prioritize multiple competing tasks
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Formal problem solving training highly desirable
